Each year, the Central Penn Business Journal lists the top 25 general contractors limited to those in or near Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry or York counties based on local revenue. Johnston Construction Company has been on the list since 1998, with a 2009 ranking of #18.

Associated Builders & Contractors Platinium Level STEP Award:

STEP was created in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee to recognize ABC member companies with exceptional safety records. STEP stands for Safety Training and Evaluation Process. The Safety Committee of the Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders and Contractors has recognized Johnston's commitment with the honor of Gold Level status in 2011 and 2012, and we are honored to have received Platinum Level for 2013, the highest level awarded.
   
Associated Builders & Contractors, Keystone Chapter: Excellence in Construction Safety Award:

As part of the Associated Builders and Contractors STEP Evaluation Process, contractors who achieve Gold Level status or higher qualify for a second round of competition for the Excellence in Construction Safety Award. This contest entails a more detailed evaluation of each companies Health and Safety Program. We are honored to have received the 2011 and 2013 Excellence in Construction Safety Award.
   
Accredited Quality Contractor:

The Associated Builders and Contractors AQC program is a national accreditation providing recognition to the construction firms that document their quality achievement in five areas of corporate responsibility. 1) Quality 2)Safety 3) Employee Benefits 4) Training 5) Community Relations and Outreach Activities.
